el Ministro cacarea:

"Resumen de una gran semana:

✅ Presupuesto: media sanción.

✅ Actividad económica: +5,3% interanual.

✅ Crecimiento acumulado en los primeros 7 trimestres: 4,5%, el más alto de los últimos 20 años. 

✅ Superávit comercial noviembre: 2.500 millones, 4 veces lo proyectado por el REM [Relevamiento de Expectativas de Mercado del BCRA].

✅ Récord de exportaciones en cantidades.

✅ Superávit energético acumulado récord (6.900 millones).

✅ Exportaciones de Manufacturas Industriales:  4to mes más alto de los últimos 11 años. 

✅ Pobreza: 27,5 por ciento [10,8 puntos porcentuales menos respecto al mismo mes del año pasado y 27,3 puntos porcentuales menos desde el inicio de la gestión].

✅ Inflación mayorista: 1,6%, 24,3% interanual.

✅ Empleo: +238 mil puestos de trabajo en los últimos 12 meses.

✅  Riesgo país más bajo desde 2018 (560)."

Las estadísticas son verdades que parecen mentiras. Cuando uno se está ahogando en una hoya de cinco metros de agua, de poco sirve que le cuenten que el arroyo tiene un metro de profundidad en PROMEDIO. Los datos recopilados seguramente sean ciertos. La pregunta es si son suficientes...

La distribución es muy despareja, el ajuste más doloroso de lo que se lo hubiera podido hacer y la transformación de la matriz productiva está cobrando ribetes traumáticos. Sin embargo, hay un consenso: mal, lo que se dice mal, estábamos antes, no ahora.

Con la misteriosa intuición de los niños y los perros, que sin entender nada todo lo comprenden, la gente conserva la esperanza. El pueblo, callado y sufriente, cuando tiene que votar, vota, apoyando con firmeza al gobierno en las elecciones. Aguanta que la gestión sea torpe, a veces brutal, porque siente que el rumbo está más o menos encaminado, que es por ahí.

“Summary of a great week:

✅ Budget: passed by the Lower House.

✅ Economic activity: +5.3% year-on-year.

✅ Accumulated growth over the first 7 quarters: 4.5%, the highest of the last 20 years.

✅ Trade surplus in November: 2.5 billion, four times what was projected by the REM [Argentine Central Bank Market Outlook Survey].

✅ Record exports, by volume.

✅ Record accumulated energy surplus (6.9 billion).

✅ Industrial manufactured exports: 4th highest month in the last 11 years.

✅ Poverty: 27.5 percent [down 10.8 percentage points year-on-year and down 27.3 percentage points since the administration took office].

✅ Wholesale inflation: 1.6%, 24.3% year-on-year.

Statistics are truths that look like lies. When someone is drowning in a five-meter-deep hole of water, it is of little use to be told that the stream in which it  is located has an AVERAGE depth of one meter. The data collected are likely to be true. The question is whether they will do the trick…

Distribution is most uneven, adjustment more painful than it might be, and the transformation of the productive layout may be taking on traumatic overtones. However, there is a consensus: in bad —really bad— shape, we were before this, not now.

With the mysterious intuition of children and dogs, who take in everything without being able to figure out anything, hope still holds in people's minds. Silent and long-suffering, when it is time to vote, the citizenry do vote, firmly supporting the government at the polls. They put up with a clumsy, sometimes brutal, administration because they feel that staying the course is more or less the right option, since the way forward has been found.
